Focus
Notes on focus
Focus is not a personality trait. It is the output of an environment designed to have fewer defaults.
We used to treat focus as a matter of discipline — something individuals were supposed to bring to work. That framing fails because it ignores the environment.
Every notification, every open tab, every ambient dashboard is a default claim on attention. Discipline is what is left after the defaults have taken their share.
So we design the environment instead: fewer channels, fewer standing meetings, and a single place where the numbers live.
